The gulf between the two journeys was insuperable, the conditions incomparable. There was no possibility of recreating the facts or feelings of their journey.

For me, simply to see the places and landscapes they went through was a powerful enough connection.

Nevertheless, part of our mission was to process our impressions artistically. We therefore explored creative ways of making a connection with their experiences through live readings from the diaries and live projections as we travelled.
